Huge Expected Growth in DG Market

A presentation by Cisco connected grid CTO Paul De Martini  indicates that distributed energy resources (DER) will grow rapidly over the next 5 years and may account for up to one-third of the total U.S. electricity supply by decade’s end.

In addition to sponsorship, Vishnu Barran, Senior Business Development Manager for ENER-G Rudox, will be the Presenter of the Pre-Conference Workshops on CHP System Design (Morning session) & Microgrids and District Energy Systems (Afternoon session) on October 14.  An expert in the field having handled hundreds of installations, Mr. Barran’s Morning workshop session will be on CHP System Design and is an AIA accredited course where participants can earn 4 PE creditsThe agenda will cover What is CHP, CHP Design, Technology, CHP’s Benefits, Maintenance and Operations, Finance and Case Studies.  The Afternoon workshop on Microgrids and District Energy Systems will clarify What is a Microgrid and What is a District Energy System and how do they interrelate.   After gaining a more clear understanding of the Electrical and Heating Benefits, the workshop will go on to cover Legislative and Regulatory Issues,  Finance and Benefits,  a review of Interconnections, Technology, Operation and Maintenance, Case Studies and provide an overall synopsis of the topic.  The afternoon workshop will also allow participants to earn 4 PE credits from this AIA accredited course.   Along with the PE credits for the workshops, participants can also take part in a tour of the CHP facility at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Tarrytown. 

 

Mr. Barran has the honor of being a Speaker in the Panel Discussion in Session 4:  DG Project Development:  Focus on Microgrids and other Technologies That Are Changing the Utility Resource Mix and Operating Strategy.  I lively dialog is sure to follow among the participants with a Q&A by the audience. 

 

Attendees have the option of touring one of the most energy efficient and energy resilient commercial buildings in the nation where combined heat and power is used in conjunction with a solar array and other features to save more than $365,000 annually.

 

The event will run from Tuesday to Friday.  The Friday session will feature the NYSERDA CHP Expo designed for commercial, industrial, and multifamily building owners and managers who will connect with pre-approved combined heat and power (CHP) equipment vendors and other organizations offering financial incentives and technical support for the installation of CHP systems.

ENER-G Rudox is one of the pre-approved NYSERDA vendors and as such ENER-G Rudox approved CHP systems quality for significant NYSERDA monetary grants to help cover the cost of the equipment.  NYSERDA’s complementary pair of CHP programs offer incentives for systems 50 kW and larger.

Building owners, managers, and other representatives are invited to stop by and speak with pre-approved CHP system vendors, NYSERDA staff, and U.S. Department of Energy’s CHP Technical Assistance Partnership representatives about products and services available to capture energy savings and improve the resiliency of their buildings.

NJ plans Energy Resiliency Bank

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, which left 1/3 of NJ residents without power for 6 days or more, the governor is proposing a new $210 million pot of money to help pay for projects aimed at curtailing electrical outages.

ENER-G Rudox receives ACE Grant

Governor Tom Corbett announced today that ENER-G Rudox, Inc. will receive a $500,000 grant for the installation of a 265 kW combined heat and power (CHP) system at the Cathedral Village retirement community located in the City of Philadelphia.

 

 

NYPA chooses ENER-G Rudox

Based on the results of  interviews with 20 contractors, the New York Power Authority has selected ENER-G Rudox to oversee service and maintenance of their existing Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system at the Perry Duryea Office Building, in Suffolk County, New York.
